We are looking for an experienced hospitality industry restaurant financial accountant for an upscale chain of Mexican restaurants in the Dallas, Texas area.

Based at our Home Office, you will nurture and maintain the Financial relationships with Operations as the primary voice of Accounting Services and Finance.  You will also increase accuracy and understanding of profit and loss statements by developing and maintaining recurring analysis, developing training documentation, and by one-on-one contact with our cloud based accounting vendor team / Operations Director and Store Level Management teams.


Essential Duties:


·         Primary internal point of contact with Operations management for all Accounting and Financial Reporting questions


·         Responsible for all required input to cloud based platform:  Payroll, A/P, Inventory, Adjustments, Service Requests


·         Analyze reports (G/L, P&L, bank and credit/debit card reconciliations, back office, Operational metrics and departmental) and research discrepancies to increase Financial Statement accuracy


·         Review and communicate to accounting vendor, any necessary adjustments to various general ledger areas, including restaurant-level expense, payroll, inventory, and revenue accounts


·         Compare financial estimates from Operations to general ledger and profit and loss statements to identify reporting errors and potential opportunities


·         Work with accounting vendor  team of specialists to ensure accurate internal and external statements


·         Learn all aspects of systems (POS and cloud based accounting system) that generate financial / payroll information at the restaurant-level


·         Identification of opportunities and changing practices in the field through both relationships and reporting


·         Daily, weekly, and periodic analysis to identify Financial Reporting anomalies and cash position, perform intercompany transfers


·         Tracks bonus plan


·         First point of contact for CPA, banking, real estate and insurance relationships


·         Reports of any exceptions




Data Entry Personnel






·         Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting and/or equivalent experience in Accounting, Reporting, or FP&A


·         Strong analytical ability and knowledge of data manipulation (using Excel and other tools)


·         Working knowledge of restaurant operations


·         Understanding of the importance of relationship development


·         Advanced written and verbal communication skills


·         Ability to vary communication to different audiences


·         Awareness to identify potential process improvements


·         Capability to remain effective in a continuously changing environment


·         Strong time management skills


·         Adapt to conflicting deadlines and priorities based upon company demands
