About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and energetic Assistant Manager for our client to support daily operations for a new full-service Mexican restaurant (opening soon). This is a unique opportunity to be part of an opening team and help shape the culture, standards, and guest experience from day one.

You’ll partner closely with the General Manager to lead the team, drive operational excellence, and deliver memorable dining experiences rooted in hospitality and authenticity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing all aspects of restaurant operations, including food preparation, service flow, and cleanliness to ensure smooth daily functioning.
  • Supervise and train staff members on food handling, customer service, POS systems, and safety protocols.
  • Lead staff recruitment efforts through interviewing candidates, onboarding new team members, and fostering ongoing training & development initiatives.
  • Manage customer service issues promptly to uphold the restaurant’s reputation for hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years proven experience in restaurant management or assistant manager roles within full-service restaurants.
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices.
  • Hands-on experience with POS systems; cash handling skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with team management, staff training & development, and shift oversight.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid food handler’s and alcohol serving certifications.
