Growing hospitality group in the Houston Galleria area is looking for a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Catering & Events Coordinator. The Assistant Catering & Events Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing catering sales, booking events, maintaining clear communication with clients, managing food & beverage services, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales for catering and events. Primarily focus will be for and Events Center in the Galleria area as well as catering at other company venues and off-site catering.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Catering & Events Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of event management, catering operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and driving revenue growth through strategic planning and execution.

Duties

  • Plan, organize, and execute catering events from small gatherings to large banquets
  • Manage catering staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their needs and preferences
  • Create and manage event budgets to ensure profitability
  • Coordinate with culinary team to design menus that meet clients’ expectations
  • Implement effective marketing strategies to promote catering services
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers for the best pricing
  • Upsell additional services to maximize revenue opportunities

Experience

  • Proven experience in events management and catering operations
  • Strong budgeting skills with the ability to meet financial targets
  • Exceptional guest service orientation with a focus on exceeding client expectations
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple events simultaneously
  • Knowledge of banquet service standards and best practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and vendors
  • Experience in event marketing within the restaurant or hospitality industry is a plus
